The Talkingbass Intro Slap Lick
This week I show you how to play the opening slap line from all the talkingbass.net videos. It’s a fairly easy line as long as you have a little slap technique.
The Talkingbass Lick!
The intro slap lick to the Talkingbass lessons has been requested many times. In coming up with the line I basically recorded myself improvising a long stream of slap fills for about 5 minutes. I then just chose the one that sucked the least! So here’s the transcription. You’ll need to be familiar with the basic slap technique and the use of ghost notes and hammer ons. All is demonstrated in the video. Have fun!
Mark moving these ghost notes around both slapping and popping ghost notes is a blast and adds funk.
It took me a while getting in the ghost notes because I had to build dexterity to play bass before attempting ghost notes.
