In this lesson we’re going to look at learning the notes on the fretboard. We’re going to use test sheets for each string in turn and then in combination. We’re also going to work on both fret markers and positions in developing our fretboard familiarity.

I’m following the basic free course and Ive got to this stage, but really not understanding the test sheets. I get the fret markers across the 4 strings but what is all the other letters mean. I am a real beginer so I want to get it right at this stage. Can anyone explain in simple words what I’m looking at on the test sheets? Thank youin advance. Mike
Thanks Mark. I have all strings up through the 7th fret pretty well covered.
How about test sheets for the B string for those of us with 5-string basses?
Absolutely a beginner never played any instrument and this is all new to me but am loving every moment
Just starting now I’m enjoying everything little by little
Exceptionally nice looking website. Probably the best I’ve come across.
