Learn These 120 Grooves

Today we’re going to look at a resource you can use for learning bass that focuses on playing and grooves rather than boring exercises.

It can be really difficult to choose grooves and songs for learning that have a progressive, step by step difficulty level. You can sometimes find a song that works for your level but then you go and try another song you like and it’s just way too difficult. It’s really hard to find a progressive roadmap for learning tunes.

This is where the Groove Trainer course comes into play. This course contains 120 grooves for you to learn in a progressive order from absolute beginner through to more sophisticated 16th note funk lines.

Every groove contains a full breakdown delving into the rhythm, the notes, the harmony and how to lock into the drums. All grooves have an accompanying drum track and there are also a set of lessons dealing specifically with all of the rhythmic and technical hurdles you will face.

Groove Example

Today we’re going to look at a simple example from the second volume. This is exercise 7 that deals with swing rhythm in a rock setting.
