Looking for the best beginner bass riff for your first day of playing? Look no further! In this tutorial, we’ll show you the perfect riff to start your bass playing journey. With tabs included, you’ll be rocking out in no time!

Easy Bass Riff

This riff is one of the most commonly heard bass lines you’ll hear in blues. It consists of the intervals; Root, Major 3rd, Perfect 5th, Major 6th and flattened 7th. To get you started, here it is in C as shown below.

12 Bar Blues

Once you’ve mastered the riff, it can be moved about the fretboard to highlight whatever chord is being played. This works great over a 12 bar blues, this is where you simply take the riff and start from a new root in order to play over that particular chord, easy!

Here, we have a simple 12 bar blues in the key of C for you to get started with. You can even jam this with friends and play it in any other key by simply repositioning yourself to the new chords on the fretboard.
