In this week’s lesson I’ve got a kickass major scale exercise for you that will help to develop both your technique and your muscle memory when playing sequential scalar lines.
Position Shift Workout
This workout is a variation of the C major scale that includes a position shift to extend it past the octave. Try practicing the scale straight up and down first to make sure you have the shift nailed before you change it up.
Tip: Break the exercise down into one-bar fragments so you can focus on smaller passages at a time.
Now that’s the fun Major Scale ever! More please!
I like the exercise very much, but is there a second page of the pdf? Thanks!
Yeah, this is not well done. You are moving way toooooo fast. Is a very frustration exercise in failure.
I really don’t know how I could have taught this any slower. The tab is all there for you to learn from and I work through each note along with technique tips. You might possibly be at too low a level to try the exercise. You obviously have to have your scales and technique up to a certain level before moving onto this.
Awesome scale exercise! Show me more. I love it!
Fantastic! This is a little above my skill level but enjoying working on it very much. Thank you for putting this out there!
