In this weeks lesson we’re looking at the Chris Squire’s classic riff from the song Roundabout by Yes.

Roundabout

This is a MUST KNOW bass riff for any budding rock bass players. It involves ghost notes, hammer on’s and great picking technique all at a speed that’s sure to push most beginner to intermediate bass players to the woodshed for a few weeks or even months.

Chris Squire was a pioneer of rock bass playing and, alongside John Entwistle, set the standard for the modern rock bass tone by using a plectrum to play a Rickenbacker 4001 bass fitted with Rotosound Roundwound bass strings.
